It's 2014! Happy New Year! Reading Genesis To Revelation

Happy New Year!

Out with the old and in with the new. I've heard other people say that the year 2013 was not a particularly good year for them and they're glad it's gone. The Lord Jesus has blessed me in many ways, however I too am glad 2013 is g-o-n-e. Not being superstitious, but the number 13 has a bad connotation to it. Goodbye and good riddance 2013.

As I mentioned on my other blog,  Seeking God First I have decided to read through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation again. I said I wanted to post here and keep track of my reading. I've already slacked on posting. I told ya, no promises on that. :)

I have been reading my chapters everyday though. I created a Bible reading plan and I started reading on January 1, 2014. I generated my plan from a free software program. For anyone who wants to check it out, it can be downloaded at http://www.oakleys.org.uk/software. I went with generating a plan to read the entire Bible in 350 days. I should finish about a couple of weeks before the end of the year.

Last year I went with a shorter time period and had big portions of scriptures to read everyday. I accomplished my goal and finished in a shorter period of time, but this year I decided to take a longer time. This way I only have to read two or three chapters a day. It's easy-breezy. There shouldn't be any excuses and I can even read ahead if I want to.

After I generated my reading plan I put it in a spreadsheet. I'm filling it out as I complete each day. I may put the spreadsheet online for others to follow me all the way through the Bible. We'll see. I definitely want to post up at least a sentence or two on this blog as I go along; making notes of interest on what I'm reading each day. Again, no promises, but we'll see. My first blog post on my progress is coming up so stay tuned.

Anyway, I wish every Christian would read through God's word. It's very satisfying and gives a feeling of accomplishment.

Checking out for now. Happy new year.

Start The New Year Right

Start the new year right. Get on a reading plan to read the entire King James Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Every year people make new year resolutions to lose weight, exercise regularly, learn a new language; you name it. The sad thing is that very few stick it out and keep their new year's resolutions.

As a Christian, you may have a resolution to have a closer relationship with God. What better way is there than to read God's love letters and instructions for our life here on earth?

We miss out on so much of what God has for us simply because we don't know his word. We need to learn his ways. We need to learn about the wonderful things he has planned for us now and also for when we make heaven. We also need to know his word so that we are not deceived or lead astray by fads, and gimmicks sold by false teachers who come out with a new book every few months.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 2 Peter 2:3

There are so many reasons why we should read the entire King James Bible. It would benefit us greatly in more ways than we realize.

I will be reading through the entire King James Bible, from Genesis to Revelation this year. I personally had planned to do it in 90 days (3 months), but I will probably go with a 120 day (4 month) plan.

Anyone can download a PDF page of my 90 day Bible reading plan by clicking "Bible Reading Plans" on the menu tab above. We will also be posting a 120 day Bible reading plan shortly. I hope you will join me in reading through the entire the King James Bible this year. I'll post about my progress in future blog post.

Happy New Year!
